Why did Frank W. Abagnale Jr. become the trickster, check forgery, and imposter he is known as today? Abagnale started doing scams at the age of fifteen with his father's gas credit card. Mr. Abagnale called his career," a foolish teenage infatuation with perpetuating swindles." Abagnale did not conduct these frauds for greed, but he could not resist the temptation of committing a fraud at any given opportunity. He realize that scams can give him the upper hand in life
Abagnale picked up this lifestyle because he was not able to finish school, and he ran away from home with only $200 in his banking account. He became a professional con-artist when it came to manipulation and changing his identity. This professional trickster was successful enough to change his age, name, and residential status at any given moment. He forged his own pilot, doctor, and a teaching license between ages 16-21. Abagnale always wanted to travel and visit various places. Thus, he received a pilot uniform form from Pan American Airlines, by convincing them that he was a new pilot that lost his previous attire. He ventured to more than 417 countries, and he had the privilege to fly a plane with more than 150 passengers per flight.
Abagnale may have committed a series of fraud and scams, but he was an ambitious individual. After Abagnale was a "certified pilot," he became a pediatric doctor in Atlanta, Georgia. He ended this temporary job after a near death of a child. Abagnale was jumping from one job to another. He taught sociology at a school in Louisiana. Abagnale was caught for these frauds and sentences for approximately 5 years, but he escaped jail twice. Next, he used these tactics to commit bank fraud, which is about $300,000 worth of bad checks. His reign of frauds was not only in United States, but he had several bad accounts in multiple countries.
Mr. Abagnale was attracted to committing frauds only to become successful in everyday life. Currently, Frank W. Abagnale Jr. works with the FBI. He is the founder of Abagnale & Associates Corporation, which deals with fraud, forgery, etc. If I lived Mr. Abagnale life, I would enjoy the benefit of being a doctor and pilot at the same time. His ideas of scamming the government and people are now published in books, and he has a movie dedicated to his life called, "Catch Me If You Can." Abagnale may be known for his conniving ways, but he is now living his (real) good life. Therefore, Mr. Abagnale life was based on ambition and conspiracy.
